Archive or delete old unnecessary funds.

I understand deleting may not be possible if the fund had any previous activity in it. But if they must be permanent, an archiving tool would be great so that they don't clutter up the various giving types lists and dropdowns. For example, in the giving dashboard if we're sorting Giving Type for a report, we get all the active, hidden, mistaken, misspelled, or otherwise duplicated giving types ever created whether purposefully or inadvertently. ;) I've tried to rename old useless ones to try to keep it clear, but as you can see it still just seems like a mess.

Marking this Complete as Fund Management is live in our Giving 2.0 dashboard and you are now able to archive a fund! You can access this space by clicking Reports in the Giving menu of Tithe.ly 1.0.

A new fund management page will be built to allow additional fund management actions like archiving unused funds.

Until this is available, is there a way to make sure donors do not give to a hidden fund?
Angelene T
Tania Mahoney: Yes, I agree! It's too many funds to manage and we no longer want people giving to the old giving type. How can we prevent that? I have now archived the old giving type - does that mean people can no longer give to that giving type?
T
Tania Mahoney
Angelene T: I know you can make giving types inactive, so that does prevent people from giving to that type. Not sure whether archiving does that though
A
Angelene Tan
Tania Mahoney: It's already hidden, how do you make it inactive?
T
Tania Mahoney
Angelene Tan: Sorry, it's called 'hidden', not inactive. Once you've done that you can archive. If I'm correct though, as long as it's just hidden, they can still donate to that if they type in the amount and that name (for text to give).

I would like to delete the giving GLs no longer using. The list is too long to navigate easily at this point. Also It would so much better if new GL's added to our church management system was integrated into Tithe.ly as hidden by default. It would then be on us, the user, to activate if we want that Giving Type listed/active in Tithe.ly.

Ability to delete giving types that have never been used

When first creating my chart of accounts in the ChMS, I created some accounts that I finally decided to delete. This has been done after the integration of the giving types in Tithely. I understand that we cannot delete a giving type that contains transactions, but it would be nice to be able to delete the useless (empty) giving types (My Churches/Edit Organization/Giving types). For now they are deleted from my ChMS but not from Tithely.
