Event Time Problem

When creating an event that is 100% online the registrants come from multiple time zones. I can enter a time zone for the event, but only the date and time appear on the registration page and on the confirmation email. The TIME ZONE does not appear on either. This means my registrants cannot identify what time the event is taking place from either place (registration page and/or confirmation email). It's a pretty huge problem. Please find a way to make time zones available. Ideally, the confirmation email would change to reflect the time zone of the registrant.

Our site operates in an environment where people from multiple time zones access the site to find out about events.
I would love an option (either a default setting or a setting for each event post) that would allow me to display the time zone next to the time of the event (i.e. a check box i could click to display the time zone as a part of the event listing).
Having it as a global override (i.e. all events do this) would be the ideal for my purposes, although automagically selecting based on IP address would be great.
