I would like volunteers to be able to see the full volunteer schedule and select shifts directly in the tool rather than needing an emailed invitation to access the schedule.

Right now they can only see the shifts they are already signed up for in the tool or see the full schedule when they receive an emailed invite. This method requires people to take immediate action when receiving an email or keep track of the email to use later. With the number of emails we receive each day, it is easy for such an email to get lost.
