Improve Check-in (touchless/self check-in from App)

- Due to covid, touchless check-in feature is urgently needed. Please enable a new option for attendees to pre-register for check-in or check-in by scanning a QR code to their phone.
- Please add more printers (i.e brothers) at the moment DYMO is very limiting. We can't use iPads to connect to it directly.

Covid has proven that there are many ways to check in remotely some will use your location to make sure you're close to where you're checking in. Whether it's through the app, like in an event, or through a separate app doesn't really matter. The ease and convenience of allowing people to check their children in and out of children's church or to check in to an event especially when there is little or no wifi available would make things so much easier. You could even make it to where the individual checking in scans a qr code linked to the event and just checks their name off. Or they could sign into elvanto and maybe the event is there in upcoming events on a home screen or something and they could just check in that way. Either way it's a much needed feature and i feel elvanto is behind the curve in this. We're actually considering looking at other software to suit our needs at the moment.

It would be very convenient if people were able to check in to events, children's church and other things with their phone. Some churches like our don't have a good set up or budget for a proper check in system and don't have a good wifi signal. Check in via phone would help so much.

This isn't currently something we have on our roadmap for the near future, but it's something we are highly considering. I'm curious, would you be happy for this functionality to be added to the existing Elvanto app as opposed to separate check-in app?
This request actually already exists, so I'm actually going to merge this request with an existing one. That way we can see your votes count together.

Could Elvanto please create a QR code to make check-in quicker, with Covid I believe check-in for services will be a permanent thing, so why not make it easier for churches and members by creating a QR code?
We would highly benefit from having this.

My church has recently been using QR codes to scan into services. We have issued our regulars with a printed QR code to check in with. These QR codes were created with the Security Code for the Primary Contact, and work for the whole family. So far, it seems to be working.
But, it would be great if there were features that allowed:
- Autogenerated barcode images by Elvanto.
- A way to store each barcode image assigned to an individual/family. It would also be ideal if the user could access their code in the Elvanto app for checkin.

Ditto! We need the ability for our members to be able to check in their kids from their phone apps.
Along with scanning a QR code on their bulletin or our announcement slides to take them to the page to mark themselves as attending

Andy Bleach's suggestion is how we have our check in set up using a google chart API suggested in the facebook group. The one clunky part of the process is that theres no way to automate an email to new families so we have to create manual temporary passes to issue on a families first visit which is not ideal.
Also using a google QR code makes me nervous because if the technology fails i dont know how to fix it... if it were an elvanto feature i know I'd have support.
A QR code that families can scan from the elvanto app would be great too. Like childcare check in systems such as Brightwheel or Xplor

Instead of a printer or barcode, create a QR code that takes the phone’s MAC address to ensure that the same device is used for both scan in and scan out, and the parent can just tick pre-populated information about their child. Then they receive an SMS to say their child is checked in. If a device with a different MAC address is used to sign a kid out, an alert SMS goes to a “safe person” and the parent.
The QR code creates a “form” that basically feeds that info directly into Elvanto. You’ll need 2 seperate QR codes one for sign in and sign out, or maybe not.
I was trying to create a makeshift version using third party applications to take info from qr to spreadsheet to Elvanto.
I think the printer and barcode system is pretty aged in a world where we have secure devices in our pockets that no one else has access to.
To identify kids sign in/sign out, a randomly generated token can be created per session and the sign out QR code will then correspond the MAC with the Token and bobs your uncle! The session token is important because you need to have each individual session recorded against the MAC.
Done! Let’s bring our churches out of the dark ages technologically speaking 👌🏽

Sabrina Sherman: Thanks for the comment, but I would like to point out that this has been labeled "under review" since 2021 and no progress has been made at this point. So my question is when will this be added to the roadmap? Such a highly requested item for the past two years now and you would think a company would make every effort to implement this change especially when others already have. The Tithely products are good, but when an item such as this has been labeled this long and all we get is "this isn't currently something we have on our roadmap..." it makes us lose confidence in Tithely as a whole when it comes to implementations.
