Sabrina Sherman We also deal with the same issue. Not only this, but events also require a form of volunteering and planning, because they need to be arranged. Our volunteers currently can't be planned on events, so we can't use the events functionality properly. In my opinion, events should be a type of service with likewise functionality.

It would be nice to be able to assign volunteers & schedule reminders on events. There are one of church events that need a registration link and need volunteers assigned. Double Scheduling (an event and a service) doubles the work and congests the calendar.
The other option would be to allow us to mark a service private so that it does not appear on the public calendar. But really that doesn't eliminate the double work of creating and event and a service to manage registration & volunteers

Sarah Abasov: Unfortunately, apart from setting up an event and a service for the same thing, there isn't much workaround here. If you don't want two things showing on the calendar for the same thing, you could always have the service appear and then assign the event to a private calendar no one can see. That will still allow people to register, but only see one thing on the calendar.

Have you tried using the "Other Times" option in the service type. It allows for a step to be added x days before or after the service itself. I havent figured out how to use it, but maybe someone else can explain in detail.

You know what would be even better? If there was a way to post non-worship-service events and assign people to volunteer but also list the open volunteer positions and allow anyone, even someone not marked as "volunteer" to fill in those slots.

We are having currently a prayer hub, where we are praying as a church 140 hours a week. This needs to be organized weekly for prayer leaders etc. We found a way to use Elvanto, but is there a plan to develop a prayer hub module to make it easier, rather than using service module?

Yes! I have to create a rehearsal time for their time to clean. But, I am still require to send select a service time.

perhaps make another service type? - eg Cleaning - then create its services on saturdays

Fergus Semler: The hard part about creating an additional service is that it shows up on the calendar. We are having the same issue with scheduling our childcare workers.
