Service Registration

It would be great to be able to link registrations to services rather than an event during this time with restrictions. Then at check in, names are already listed. Plus church admin could 'register' Visitor 1, 2 etc to allow for visitors on the day. It would need to show how many places remaining before registration.

It would be great to allow a form to linked to services for Covid check in and attendance records

It would be so good to have this tidied up. We recently had services capped at a certain number due to COVID restrictions. The process we had:
- Create a service (for volunteers, plan etc).
- Create an event.
- Create a form that links to the event.
- Send out the form link so people can register.
- Attempt to record attendance through the Event Guest List only to discover it only checked in about a quarter of the people (which apparently is a known bug).
- Give up and record attendance on a printed list (thankfully we had one as a backup).
- Export the names from the Form (as invoices and guest list were not 100% accurate) to Excel, remove those who didn't show, add those who didn't.
- Upload the Excel spreadsheet to the service.
It was frustrating.
It would be so good to have an easier way. I will investigate the cap on the forms (which I saw in a comment below) but my ideal would look like this:
- People register through a link to a service.
- When they arrive the check-in team can see a list in the service of who is registered (like you can with Events, but one that works!) and tick off those who arrive. If extras arrive, they can be easily added. If someone is ticked off as coming accidentally, it can be reversed. A running total is kept of those who said they were coming vs who has arrived vs who is extra.
I know it's a lot of work to make all that happen, but it would be great if it could!

Sabrina Sherman this is a great update, but the only issue I see is when you are registering for different types of tickets in a service. For example, we have a ticket for the main service with a set limit, also the same for each of our kids classes as limits apply here. Without having 3 separate forms this is not going to work. Any work arounds here?
Sabrina Sherman
I see. Yes, if you want limits for each kind of registrant, you would need three forms for this. Otherwise, the existing registration form with the "tickets" your'e using would be the only way to have one form. Sorry I don't have a workaround for that!

Hello all!
I just wanted to pop into this discussion and let you know that while we did not build out a formal service registration area, we have released an improvement to our forms that will make it easier for them to be used for this purpose!
Our new submissions limits feature for standard forms just went live today! Before today, you had to use a registration form, link it to an event, and then set a limit on the tickets to cap attendance. Now there is a new area on the edit tab of standard forms that allows you to set a basic limit. Beyond that limit the form will show as closed. That means no having to use registration forms at all to set a limit, no "billing contact" area, and no emails for invoices/tickets at all!
On the admin view, the new feature will show how many submissions are remaining toward the limit on the submissions tab, and you can either increase the limit or delete submissions in order to create more room for new registrants.
While this will not link to an event's check-in feature (this has always been the case for a standard form), this will allow you to gather a list of RSVPs for a service on the form while setting a limit, and then you can either use our existing Service Check-in area for who actually showed up to attend, or import the submissions list as service attendance easily as a workaround.
Again, I know this isn't exactly what was asked for here, but I'm hoping this will make using our forms A LOT easier to register people for events now that you can set a submissions limit.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our support team at support@tithe.ly, and check out the new section of this article on "Submission Limits" for more information (and "Conditional Form Field" which also went live today!): https://help.tithe.ly/en/articles/2426818-working-with-forms-how-to-create-and-edit-a-form
Hope that helps!

Sabrina Sherman: Thank you for helping us with this. I wonder though, how will ChMS Events integrate with Tithely Events. I'm getting a bit confused about the situation. Our pastor, having learned about Tithely Events, is leaning on that as our Events platform. Plus Tithely Events relies on Tithely People rather than ChMS. Hoping for integration soon!
Sabrina Sherman
Robert Buford: Yes, our team is hard at work on the People-Elvanto sync! This is set to be done toward the end of the summer so that if you have common people fields between to the two and make a change in one platform, that change will reflect in both.
This will allow you to not have to maintain what is currently two separate platforms. That way you can use Elvanto for what is has AND take advantage of the new stuff in the Tithe.ly suite of products.
Our team is also creating a brand new Events area in the Tithe.ly suite that will be connected to the new People space (which will eventually be synced with Elvanto soon!). Does that make better sense?

Yes please! Much needed on our end.

Register for Service

It would be very helpful to have people be able to register for services (like they can an event) and then have that spill over into check-in. Bonus points if it works through the app!

Yes yes yes yes. Especially since we can see/pull the "Sunday Service" events into Tithe.ly site but the registration link is for a separate "Event" (that is actually the same event...)

What's the latest on this request? It would be really helpful.
