Make it harder for donors to donate to the wrong church

It would be good to see some additional notifications or steps in place to make it harder for donors to give to the wrong church. Some suggestions would be: 1) adding a big popup confirming the change when someone chooses a church than what they last gave to; and 2) giving donors the option to set a default church that the app would default to every time.

Yes! Add default to user profile. Add "favorite" function. Or default to recent donation--unless that one was accidental.

My biggest complaint about your app is that you default to the closest physical church for the person wanting to give. It is not realistic in a Metropolitan area that the nearest physical church is the one that you attend. As a pastor, I have had to deal with People who believed that they gave money to our church only to find out it went to another church. This is extremely frustrating and time consuming.
You need to change the wording on your app and turn off the default church closest to you. Make the person lookup their church instead of having the closest one automatically come up . Give instructions that the nearest church may not be your church and that you should search by church name.
The name of our is Church of Grace, there are many churches that have the name Grace in it, and many people go too quickly and think they're giving to the right Grace Church.

Thanks Tom for bringing this up. I had this same issue, and hope it can be fixed, so no default church pops up, except an individual sets up their default church.
Having the nearest church pop up on logging in first time isn't a great idea. Please @ Adam Barry, that nearest church algorithm needs to be removed completely.

Thanks for the feedback Tom Barkey. We'll look into ways to improve this in the future. For now, we recommend that churches that share a common name with other churches add something to their church name in Tithely to help their donors identify their church. Some suggestions are to append something that may be unique to your church, like street name or area of town. That way when you're informing your members about Tithely, you can point to something unique about yours.
If you're using our custom church app, we recommend that you promote people to use that. It provides direct links to your church's giving page, provide more engagement opportunities with your members, and has a ton of functionality.

I was thinking that if our church logo appeared on the initial screen instead of the generic 'house' picture, that might help :)

Yes, this is definitely a good safety measure, since few people have complained of giving to the wrong church instead of our church.

I am definitely for adding an option for a default church!
