FEATURE REQUEST: more granualr option for user access rights
Suggestion: for every user we create, it'll be great to just have checkboxes for menu items he/she can see/use. Example: our intern only should be able to update sermon notes and send push notifications. I don't want her to mistakenly mess up other areas of our app.
Inbox with Unread indicator for Home page
My church really enjoys using our custom Tithely App. The #1 point of feedback I receive is that the notifications mechanism is not intuitive. If users do not click on the push notification at the moment they receive the push, they often do not know how to find the message again in the app and it just gets lost. It would make a huge difference to be able to put the Inbox as a Tab on the Home screen (I would happily give up one of the 5 spaces for the Inbox.) Additionally, it would also make a huge difference if that Inbox tab on the Home screen also showed a status indicator of 'X' unread messages. This way a user opening the app would have a very intuitive path to seeing unread notifications--plus, they are also used to this since that is how their devices work with notifications (as well as every social platform that gives notifications). Right now the design is such that if they don't respond immediately to a push notification, roughly half of our people never see that information because they don't know how to find it or remember that there is information they need to look for. An improvement along these lines would be a big deal to our communication efforts. Thanks for a great product and for always working to improve it!
Push Notifications Linked to Events
It would be really slick if you could create a push notification based on an event. That way all the links, images, and online signup would already be filled in.
Small Group/ forum messaging
This would be a new feature within the app. It would allow for messaging to and for subgroups within the Church community. So, for example, there could be a section for small groups for each small group to chat, talk, discuss - what the next study will be, that the group wont be meeting, etc. The "Small Group Forum" could be accessible by anyone with the app, or password protected. The section could be "open" and generated by any one in the church, or "closed" and only able to be made by Pastors and staff, etc. Obviously anyone could comment on the forum, and just like the Prayer Wall admin would have right of removal. If it helps, and you are familiar, think Reddit but for the app. A place for various servants within the community to orchestrate their efforts for the good of the community.
Automation Options For Photo Albums
Sometimes at events I tell our people to text photos to us at a particular address so I can add their selfies to media we're working on. I'd like to put some automation into getting those into the app somewhat real-time. It would be lovely if I could somehow administratively add photos to an album in the App without logging in to the dashboard--instead doing it programmatically. I use the O365 products heavily and I could picture a couple of ways to accomplish this. 1. The best way would be if there was an O365 Flow Connector that we could call/configure to reach out an insert a photo into an album. 2. A second way might be to allow me to send an email to some address that the App would process and drop into a specified album. 3. Or possibly allow an album to be configured to point to a Sharepoint folder location and display the images from it into the album in the App. If any one of these things (or something else creative like them) were possible, I can build all of the logic in Flow for accepting pictures, moderating them for Approval/Rejection, and pushing them along into whichever programmatic path would let the album display those images. Functionally that would allow my people to text images to us and then be able to see them hit the App in near-real-time while actually at the event.
Checking in on the App
It would be great to be able to run kids check in on the App. It would simplify our churches sign in process and enable easy self check in. Is this something that will be available soon?
WYSIWYG Layout builder
It would be great to be able to have a tool that lets an admin to create and update layouts for the home screen and sub pages using a wysiwyg edtior.
iOS in app webpage
When loading external pages in app (an elvanto form for example) the submit button is not accessible on iOS because the page will not scroll and stay where the button is visible. On Android the button is available.
'Day of the week' for Events
It currently looks like the date format for events does not include the day of the week. It would be fantastic if they could include it, even if it's just the 3-letter version (eg. Thu 24 Oct 2019).
Notes box grows too large as people type
On the sermon notes, the box where people can type notes grows as people type, creating a huge box filled with a bunch of white space. After typing they have to scroll down to the next point. This annoys and frustrates our note takers. Can you make the notes box just fit the words that people put in (like the box that I am typing right now?) That would be very helpful
